After a series of fundraising events, the necessary target required for Afghan family, Zaher and Roya Moein and their two girls, to apply for private sponsorship to Canada, was reached. One of these events last year, a dance party and raffle, was attended by Geraldine, Judith R, Judy, Ginette and Robert.
Today, we heard news that a group that six Canadian women have formed a team to sponsor the Moein family, and that is great news 👨👨👧👧.
However, the sponsorship process could still take a couple more years while the application is processed and the family is vetted, but there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
Special mention of the fundraising team is worthy of note, this includes: Steve Dobney, Susanna Bryceson, Bruno Lettieri and Diane Lee. Well done!
